Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges faced, I want to ensure that our classroom is a place of safety and comfort for my students to learn and grow.
They are an extremely diverse group of students who are eager to learn.
This is a Title I school, where 100% of the students receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. These third graders are curious, imaginative, and ambitious and I am determined to give them the best education possible!
My Project
In this project, I have requested snacks and water for my students. Many of my students come to school hungry, not having eaten any breakfast or even dinner the night before. Having granola bars and cereal ready for my students whenever they are feeling hungry will allow me to create a safe environment for my students.
My classroom is a place my students consider home and having these snacks and drinks will help ensure that even more.
With these items, my students will be able to focus on learning and being the best students they can be!
