My Students

Our school serves students in grades preK-5 and provides rigorous academics, dedicated teachers and a safe learning environment. Our students come from a variety of different cultural and economic backgrounds. All of our students are eligible to receive free meals at school. In addition, over half my students are English Language Learners. Despite their challenges, our students come to school ready to do their best work.

My students are full of positive energy, taking on each new challenge with enthusiasm .

They especially love art, engineering and reading. Our classroom theme is kindness and our school prides itself on being an Ohana or family.

Our community school is Title I funded and is a community of students who love STEAM learning. Our rules are show kindness & respect, make good decisions, and be a problem solver.

My Project

Ozobot is a smart robot that can follow lines or roam around freely, detect colors, and can be programmed using visual codes. My students will work in small teams to learn hands-on about robotics, math and programming. Students will be given progressively more difficult challenges to solve.

Ozobot teaches them in a fun way so they learn while being engaged and playing.

Students will be using their listening and speaking skills while discussing new and inventive ways to code their robots. Students will use our Ozobots to build critical thinking and problem solving skills. Can you imagine the fun students will have using their robots during our math lessons on area and perimeter?
