Help me give my students a chance to grow nutritious food that they can take from seed to harvest. Most traditional gardens yield results after the school year is completed. This allows students to enjoy what they grow!

My Project

Food insecurity in this country is a hurdle students face everyday. Access to nutritious food is an even greater problem students face. My students will benefit from learning how to grow and harvest their own food.

I want students to explore new foods that are not only delicious but healthy too!

We will be able to grow a larger amount of food in a shorter period of time. This will allow more students to try nutritious foods. The tower garden can grow 30%more at about triple the speed.

The garden is on wheels and can be moved to each grade level. Lesson’s will be put together to teach about aeroponic technology and how that compares to soil based gardening. Tower gardens are environmentally conscious and require only 10% of the water and space a traditional garden uses.

Using a hydroponic garden tower will nourish both my students minds and bodies. Appreciation for food through growing their own will help change the way they approach heathy eating.

I am excited to explore hydroponic gardening with my students.
