My Project

Our school is unique because of our diverse staff and student body. Our school district can best be described as one happy family. Learning is happening all over our school. In the classroom students are learning required content; however, outside the classroom, our students enjoy art, music, PE, and now, STEM classes. Our students have opportunities to visit the local zoo and other places in our community, which will inspire them to learn more about the world they live in. Our school district is a rising star in STEM education, participating in robotics competitions, and having a nationally recognized STEM magnet academy campus.

I am honored to be a part of the inaugural opening of our Early STEM Academy at our school as lead STEM educator for our campus.

As lead STEM educator for our campus, I have two classrooms: a STEM lab where I teach STEM to all students on campus and additionally, we opened our Innovation Lab that caters to our Early STEM Academy students. In this lab I collaborate with my superiors who are also my mentors to create hands-on lessons using the engineering design process.

Hands-on lessons in STEM education require technology that is accessible to every student who enters our Innovation Lab.

I would love to have an updated, easy to use Smart Board in our lab so students can have a hands-on interactive approach to learning that will inspire active participation, problem solving, and an age-appropiate understanding of STEM subjects taught in our Innovation Lab.

I want to teach our young scholars how to do more than swipe and touch a screen. I would like to teach them how to code, interact with 3D models and other exciting activities that come with learning STEM. Thank you.
