This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a first grade public school teacher in a low income/high need community, I try to expose my first grade students to all facets of learning in order to help them meet their potential and enjoy the learning experience.
I have a group of ambitious and eager public school students who love to read, write, and do math.
They are beginning to put together sounds, identify word families, identify various reading comprehension skills, write stories, write informational texts, compute verbal problems as well as subtraction and addition problems. My students love technology and enjoy doing various reading, math, and writing work on the smart board.
My Project
I am requesting a step stool that my students can use in order to reach the smart board in my class. My first grade students are not tall enough to reach the smart board and they require a sturdy step stool that will enable them to do work on the smart board while remain safe at the same time. They use the smart board throughout the entire day including reading workshop, writing workshop, math, science, social studies, and word study. By using the step stool, my students will be able to to use the smart board in a safe manner in order improve their reading, writing, math, word study, science, and social studies skills.
With your help, you will make it possible for my students to improve their reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and word study skills by enabling them to do work on the smart board in my classroom.
