Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
NMS is a community of diverse students who are excited to learn and grow. Most of our students are English Language Learners and come from low-income homes. Despite this, our students show up with positive attitudes and a willingness to learn. Our students deserve the best educational experience possible.
Our classes can have 25-30 students each and some of us are still using old projectors with pull down screens that do not always work.
It is difficult for students to have a central, focal point in a classroom without an up-to-date board.
A Smart Board would benefit our students in huge ways. Our English Language Learners can use the interactive tools on a Smart Board to feel more comfortable learning a new language while at the same time learning Reading and Writing skills in my ELA class. A Smart Board would absolutely set them up for success, and better prepare them for their High School classes and beyond.
