The students have enjoyed the new materials so much! The new storage systems are holding drums, mallots, shakers, guitar tuners, and more! The colorful mobile organizer is now storing all of the \"bonus\" music that students have requested. In our program, 6th graders play ukulele, 7th graders play guitar, and 8th graders play keyboard. Students practice songs on their instrument each week and often ask for me to transcribe other songs that they are feeling excited about in both English and Spanish! The mobile organizer allows me to store the many songs students request in a place that is accessible to them and gives them a sense of autonomy over their learning. They have loved picking music from the organizer and always ask if they can focus on a \"bonus\" song! \r\n\r\nI can't tell you how excited my Spanish-speaking students were to see drawers dedicated to music in Spanish that they actually listen to. Most materials for the classroom are in English and translating musical materials is very difficult, so having songs prepared for them to use in Spanish is a huge deal to my students. \r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived the students reacted like it was Christmas! They kept saying \"this is for us? Where did you get this?\" In one seventh grade class, there were over ten students asking to help me put together the organizer and shelves because they couldn't wait for it to get set up. I had too many volunteers and ended up having to have them take turns building the shelf because there wasn't enough for everyone to do. \r\n\r\nMy students and I cannot express how thankful we are to you for your donation to our program. Students are able to get back to their calculations faster now that it is easier to hole punch these.\r\n\r\nSome of our students do not have access to technology at home. Being able to use the headphones allows these students to explore technology at school and can listen to the audio more times and at a closer level.
