This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When you walk into our classroom, you will see students synergizing and collaborating together in a kind and respectful manner. They try their best to succeed academically as they have a positive growth mindset. Most students come a low socioeconomic area and receive free or reduced price lunch.

Some students come to school always wearing the same stained and tattered clothing with no jackets during cold weather.

They lack the necessary school supplies. You would never know this,though, as they enter the room every morning showing a love for learning!

My Project

Right now, my students are sitting at traditional tables and hard plastic chairs. An uncomfortable student is a distracted and unproductive student. Flexible seating encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused and productive, and it helps make learning fun! I have slowly been purchasing items for a cozy flexible seating classroom where students have a voice and choice in deciding where and how to learn to best meet their individual needs for being successful learners.

By donating to provide these lap desks to our classroom, you will help the students finally be able to sit comfortably.

They will be more focused and more highly engaged in an environment conducive to open collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking.
