Help me give my students smaller guitars. Little hands and shorter arms need a guitar made for them.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Nance's classroom raised $648

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school teaches kindergarten through fifth grades. We are an inner-city, Title I school located in a neighborhood. My students come from low-income homes with most of them receiving free and reduced lunch. Our school is blessed with multi-cultural diversity as a large percentage of our students are Hispanic.
My younger students want to play the guitar.
Music can light up the soul, especially in students. Their faces light up when they know they can play instruments. They will stop me in the hallway to ask if we are playing instruments today.
My Project
I am blessed with full sized guitars to instruct my students. However, they are too big for smaller students. These students are quickly overwhelmed by the size of the guitar, get frustrated and want to quit. It is heartbreaking to see enthusiasm evaporate.
Smaller guitars will help the little ones succeed.
They will feel the guitar was made for them. They are so excited to learn an instrument they see their musical idols play. Starting them young will give them a headstart on a lifetime of personal musical growth and enjoyment.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
