Smaller Groups, Better Results!

My students need a mobile whiteboard easel so that I can use it to give individualized instruction to students during our small group time.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Not all students learn in the same way, or at the same speed. I try to individualize lessons during our small group time, to address the needs of each student in my class. Students need focused instruction, but limited space, and funding make it a juggling act trying to help students, as needed.

My students are inquisitive and and not shy to ask for help!

I create a learning environment where we focus on our strengths positively, and we help each other where there is weaknesses. Our school resides in a low poverty area, and in a district where funding has been slashed in half in the past few years. We don't have enough funding to employ a school nurse for more than one day a week, much less for much needed school furniture.

My Project

Every minute in the school day is invaluable! An easel would help so much, because I would be able to give mini-lessons to small groups in a more efficient and accessible manner. I currently have one small white board in the class (attached to wall). During small group instruction, students rotate groups, so that I can address the skills or strategies that need reteaching or clarification at the white board. This rotation consumes time, and even at its best is not an efficient use of time. I would use this easel in mini-lessons and rotate table to table, saving time and creating a less disruptive, learning environment.

Help us use time more wisely, and effectively.

By donating you are helping me meet the different needs of a student. Any small donation would help my students' needs be met. Every student deserves small group instruction whether it be to reinforce skills, or help a gifted student accelerate their learning in a challenging way.
