Small Percussion, Big Impact!

My students need small hand percussion instruments, such as triangles, tambourines, and wood blocks to perform more diverse music and achieve different sounds.

My Students

My second and third grade students are full of energy and natural curiosity. Music class gives them an chance to explore their creativity, develop their talents, and learn more about history and culture. There is a place for everyone in the music room!

I teach in a Title I school in a small, rural community in North Carolina.

All students at my school have access to free breakfast and lunch, and many also receive backpacks with food to help them through the weekend. Although many of my students have to deal with the struggles of living in poverty, they come to school each day willing to work hard and make the most of their time in school.

My Project

With these materials, my students will be able to have more diverse choices in performing music. With small percussion instruments that they can hold and play by hand, my students will also be able to engage in more creative movement. One focus in my classroom has been student-driven creativity, and I feel that with these instruments, my students will be able to achieve great things.

My students get so excited when they get a chance to play instruments, because it is fun and they get different choices to create sound.

With more small hand percussion instruments, they will be able to achieve more. They will also have more fun engaging in creative movement and playing.
