Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My elementary students in 1st and 3rd grade are full of curiosity and potential! Many of them are At Risk for learning to Read and some are English language learners and attend a Title I school, which means resources can be limited—but their excitement for learning is unlimited.
One of the best parts of our day is small group reading time.
It’s where students get targeted support, build confidence, and grow into independent readers. To make this time even more impactful, we need some simple but essential tools.
With your support, we’re hoping to get large storage bags so each student can keep their reading materials organized—books, notebooks, sticky notes, and all the supplies they need in one spot. Staying organized helps us make the most of our small group time.
Sticky notes are a student favorite—they love using them to share thoughts, ask questions, and connect with the stories we read.
And to keep the motivation high, we’d love to include a few treats and small incentives. These simple rewards go a long way in encouraging effort, focus, and a positive learning attitude.
Your support will help create a welcoming and exciting environment for small group reading—where our 1st and 3rd graders can thrive, and fall in love with reading. Thank you for helping our young readers shine!
