Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every day I am met with 12 smiling kindergarten faces who are ready to learn. My students enjoy coming to school which puts a smile on my face.
Three words to describe my students are energetic, loving, and determined.
Low-income, English Language Learners, and special needs are another three ways to describe my students.
My self contained kindergarten class requires several different supports to help with learning through out the day. One support is small group teaching. These 12 amazing students work best when learning in a small group setting. Small group instruction helps my students stay engaged and focused on the task at hand.
My students are very excited about their personal achievements in their reading, writing and math abilities. Engagement is the key to educational success. They work best in a small group setting.
My Project
Many children today struggle to stay engaged and focused during whole group instruction in the classroom. My self contained kindergarten students struggle with this daily. Using small group instruction during reading, writing and math helps my kindergarten students work to their full potential.
My 12 amazing students have special needs who work best in a small group setting.
The smaller group setting contains three students and myself at a time. This kidney shaped teaching table would give us a home for our small group lessons. My students will benefit from the kidney shaped teaching table by having a place to sit through out the school day during our small group instruction.
