Small Group Super Reads

Help me give my students engaging texts for our small group literacy instruction. All of these texts are fantastic hook books, that leave kids wanting to read more!

My Students

I teach fifth and sixth graders at a small rural-suburban school. The students in my classroom come from a variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, where 41% of them receive free or reduced lunch services. My goal is to provide all learners, despite their backgrounds, with an enriching educational experience that will better prepare them for college and future careers.

The community that I teach in is rich in history, and has strong ties to its past, as the school building itself opened in 1948.

I am looking forward to continuing this experience and sharing enriching educational opportunities with the learners in my classroom.

My Project

All of the novels requested in this project are hook books that leave kids wanting to read more. By donating to this project, you will be supporting each student in my class, for years to come, in their reading development.

Each text was carefully selected to match the skills students are working on at their independent reading levels.

These books will be treasured by students and help develop excitement towards reading while addressing key skill areas to promote student success. I am looking forward to sharing these texts with my students as we dive in, in small groups, to support their academic success.
