Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our fifth grade math class, we do stations every day. It’s what works best for my students, and they love moving around doing different things during math.
With 26 kids in each class, my small groups consist of 6 to 7 kids per group (I know - not so “small”).
The small group table we currently have is VERY small. I can squeeze six students around it, but they are elbow to elbow, so their workspace is very limited.
This table would give my students enough space to work in during guided math, and they would be so happy to know they won’t have to be cramped while working in that station!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
