Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have been teaching for 14 years. Over the years, I have seen a lot of changes in education, some for the best, some not so good.
Education is something that is changing daily.
I have to stay on top of the best way for my students to learn. I teach in a school where one hundred percent of the students receive free or reduced-price lunches.
Most of the students I serve come from a background of poverty. These students need an environment that is fun and safe to go to everyday. Students need to feel secure and comfortable in their learning environment.
My Project
This project will help expose my students to some amazing literature. It is important for students to be exposed to different types of books. I want my students to be able to read books, that can give them a glimpse back into history, and give them information about the past.
Having small group sets will help my class do book studies, and have discussions on the books they are reading.
It will help students gain new prospective on what happened to shape our world. It gives them a point of view from a child. Using these realistic fiction books, will help students be engaged in their learning!
