This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom consists of 1st through 5th graders in a self-contained, special education setting. Our main focus is on math and science. Many of my students are operating at levels below their current grade, so I use small group instruction and independent activities to help bridge the gaps and work towards grade-level assignments. The resources in my DonorsChoose project seek to help with that. The Power Pens allow students to practice and reinforce skills we previously worked on. Activities such as the Touch & Match activities will be used during small groups to teach new skills. Lastly, the books will be used during whole groups to introduce new concepts in a fun and engaging way!
