The materials for this project will allow students to have hands on learning in small groups. During the pandemic, social emotional development was stalled for many young children, as they didn't have the opportunity to really interact with their peers typically.
Small group learning allows for independent application of skills learned with the teacher to accelerate learning, while also giving children the chance to develop social skills, self-advocacy, and problem solving.
Research has shown that this type of learning reaps the best results, and these materials will support that in my classroom.
