This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a reading specialist, I work with students from a variety of backgrounds and different levels who need more reading and math support than what they can get in their general education classrooms. They are often missing important skills that will ultimately help them to become successful readers in the future.
Even though my reading and math students have significant needs, they still need opportunities to play games and participate in engaging activities.
In fact, they need these opportunities more than other students if we want them to grow to be better readers and mathematicians in the future! That's why I'm asking for several different reading and math games and activities to practice elements of foundational reading such as the alphabet, phonological awareness, and phonics and flash cards to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. These games and activities will help students to have an engaging learning experience while improving their foundational skills!
