My students need a comfortable organized area for small group instruction. The crates will provide that comfortable place by adding cushions to the top.
My students are excited to come to small group everyday and read with their peers and myself. It is a special time of the day where I have the opportunity to interact with my students one-on-one.
We are a Title 1 school that serves low-income families.
I have a group of 23 kindergartners who love to learn and share what they are doing in and outside of the classroom. They enjoy reading books, playing games, and expressing their thoughts through drawings.
My Project
The materials I am requesting will provide comfortable seating for my students during small group instruction. The crates will fit nicely under the table and the top cushion would add some coziness to reading time. It will also add extra storage in the classroom for needed materials.
The crates will provide a stable seat that students will be able to get in and out of safely. Currently, we have classroom chairs that get hooked on each other making it difficult for the students to get in and out of and uncomfortable to sit.
In the classroom, we do not often think about it being comfortable while learning.
This type of seating will allow my students to learn while easing the transition time to small group and providing comfort.
