Please help my 3rd grade students have a place to go to learn in a small group setting. I currently have one table for small groups with no chairs and have found that trying to work there and have students bring their own chairs to the learning table is very distracting. Something so simple as having stools around our tables will help the classroom run so much smoother. Additionally, I am an ESE inclusive classroom and I am lucky enough to have another teacher push into my room to pull students into small learning groups as well. I love having her there and so do my students however, when she is in our room she is using my only small group table. When I wish to pull my own small groups, I am having to sit on the floor with them while they merely use clipboards. In addition to the stools, I would love to add a new floor table for additional small group learning opportunities for.
Small group instruction increases student collaboration, provides more individualized instructions through differentiation, and increases interest in student learning.
My goal with this project is to create a fun and engaging learning environment for all of my students to learn in. I love that my students are hardworking and so eager to learn. I know that having this classroom furniture to use during small group time will only make them more eager and excited to learn each day.
