Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Most of my students are English learners or students who are struggling to read. Daily we have small group instruction where I work with two or three students at a time to give them the instruction that best meets their needs.
We desperately need specific books for their specific learning needs.
Some students are still learning short vowels, while others are learning digraphs. Our class needs instructional books that help them practice the skills we are working on. We also need books that are at their specific levels to help foster a love of reading. I'm hopeful that this project gets funded and that I can show them how amazing reading can be.
