This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students enjoy learning. They come into the classroom feeling safe and ready to learn. Most of the parents of my students do not have full time jobs and therefore my students are not able to have books at home. When they come into my classroom they go straight to my library to get a book or two for the day.
Most of my students are reading at a low level and do not have the resources at home to practice which can make reading difficult and frustrating.
My Project
My students enjoy using anything other than pencils and paper. The dry erase boards and markers will make it easier to give a quick and quiet answer. They will be able to practice their math strategies with these tools and understand that it is OK to make mistakes.
The stools will be a great addition to the interactive groups because they are colorful and inviting.
My students will be able to feel that small groups are fun and meaningful. The stools also give them a break from their regular seats. These seats are great for anytime I am working with a small group.
