Small Group Focus

My students need a table to work in a small group with myself. I also have some kiddos that need to move in order to focus. The bands will help with that!

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. My goal is to provide my students with a safe and exciting work environment.

My students are creative, thoughtful, and free-spirited.

They love to read, write their own stories, conduct experiments, and draw. Many of them are growing up in a poverty stricken households. That may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical". My kiddos are full of energy and they need lots of love! From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on making them feel welcome and encourage them to do their best. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I hope that my students will succeed.

My Project

Every year I have a new set of kiddos in my room with new needs in order to be successful. This year, I have quite a few students that would benefit from working one on one with myself. The U shape table would allow me to start guided math and have plenty of space to work with multiple students at a time. The drawers would allow me to keep all my small group supplies under the table and organized.

The bands will be for my kiddos that need some sort of movement in order to pay attention.

Several teachers here have used the bands and they have worked wonders, now I just need to get them in place to help my kiddos be able to focus.
