My Project
In our new 6th grade MakerSpace class, students are building everything from playable games, to wearable art, to multi-piece, functional machines. Cardboard is our primary material.
Cutting by hand takes up a lot of class time and it slows down the creative process.
That’s why I’m requesting 7 cordless electric cardboard cutters which is enough for students to share with 3-4 other students. These tools will allow students to make clean, accurate cuts safely and independently, especially when they’re adding detailed features and functional elements to their creations.
This isn't about skipping the difficult part, but it is about using our limited class time as efficiently as possible so students can focus on the designing, building, and problem-solving parts of each project.
