Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

These Slumberkins plush and book sets help encourage students to focus on different social-emotional skills, and there is a creature tied in with each, so they have a more realistic connection. We have 5 of the creatures so far in our room and I would love to complete our collection as well as two mini's that are amazing additions. The Floof mini goes alongside with Dragon and promotes creativity and the Jellyfish mini is an amazing fidget item because of the tentacles on the jellyfish.

For this project, I have requested the remaining kins needed for our collection, as well as two special mini's, identifying emotions card game, magna-tiles for indoor recess, and lunchbox notes for positive affirmations during our state testing in third grade.

Each creature has such an amazing story to tell, with affirmations we can then have around the room to remind them throughout the year. As well as "crew" based goals related to our feelings, confidence, and helpfulness.
