Slicing Through Art!

My students need 36 Slice Cutters for paper cutting and collage projects.

My Students

Our art students come from a variety of socioeconomic, cultural, and artistic backgrounds. Some of our students come to us and have never created art. I work hard to incorporate art creation, aesthetics, art history and art criticism into my students' lessons and make it my personal goal for these kids to enjoy walking into the art room to create! In our art room, we make connections to the core areas (math, reading, social studies, science, and writing) so students see that art connects to many parts of our lives. Our art students are always creating, doodling, drawing, sculpting, folding, and carving. We are a busy classroom!

My Project

My middle school art students are in need of Slice Cutters. Our art students do several collage projects over the course of their middle school careers. We do Paper Lace cutting, Japanese paper cutting (Notan), Minimalist Cartoon Character collages, and several other detailed paper cuttings/collages.

This donation will help my art students create detailed cuttings in a safer way!

Students in all grade levels (fifth-eighth) at our school will benefit from these new cutters. The blades are ceramic and non-rusting. Right now, our students use X-Acto knives that have screw in blades. The blades often fall out and need to be put back in by an adult, are rusting, and have a larger blade. Slice cutter blades are smaller, easier to control, have a snap on safety cap, and never have to be replaced or sharpened.
