Slap Those Spiders!

Help me give my students shade cloth, zipties, and wooden stakes to make spider slappers for our greenhouse.

My Project

Our shade house/greenhouse is always filled with crab spiders that need to be smashed! We need wooden stakes and screws to fabricate spider slappers that we can use around the farm to get rid of the pesky crab spider that builds webs all over the place and kills a lot of bees that we need in our garden. We also need more shade cloth and zip ties to make the shade house/greenhouse cooler for our seeds that we are planting in there.

Getting rid of spider webs that threaten the bees we need to pollinate our fruits and vegetables is just one thing we get to do in our class that makes learning so fun!

Being able to build a tool like the spider slapper to protect the bees we need in the garden is a luxury that only DonorsChoose can provide, and for that we are very grateful. My students are able to learn many extra lessons that they are able to use outside of school once they go home.
