Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have several students with special needs in my fourth grade classroom. These students benefit from accommodations and modifications to the learning environment in order to be successful.
Having access to a slant board, an angled writing surface, during writing will help my students with special needs meet their goals of generating ideas and sentences.
Slant boards are portable, so students can attach their paper to the clip at the top and use them anywhere in the classroom.
Having the option of wearing ear muffs will block out background noise so my learners with special needs will be able to stay focused better in our busy classroom.
Having seat cushions will provide alternative seating options for my learners with special needs. The cushions are colorful and filled with comfortable squishy material that will allow them to sit and move at the same time.
Finally, the five fidget balls will be useful for students with attention difficulties. They can select a fidget to help them focus during lectures or during times they might feel anxious.
