This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember your favorite activity as a child? In this day and age it seems that kid's favorite activities involve video's and technological devices. Therefore, if I want to reach my students throughout the school day, I have to find educational activities that will keep them engaged.

I have the pleasure of being the teacher to 21 smart, enthusiastic 1st grade students.

Students who are excited to learn, and are gaining the necessary skills needed to become life long learners. 100% of my students participate in the free lunch program. They come from low income working class families that live in the greater Los Angeles area.

My Project

How many times have you heard that sitting a child in front of a television will keep them entertained for hours? Well I would like to keep my students entertained with a media they enjoy, however my entertainment will be with educational DVDs. My students' will definitely not be sitting in front of the DVD player for hours on end. My students need as much small group instruction as they can get. In order to do this, I work in small groups and would like to ensure the independent center is getting educational learning time. With this DVD player and DVD sets as well as other DVD sets that I currently own, I can be assured that my students will learn and reinforce lessons in a fun and entertaining manner. A portable DVD player will engage my student's during independent learning center times.

Technology has touched us in almost every aspect of life, so it is not surprising that children love technology as well.

Having this DVD player will ensure that my students are touched by technology and it aide them in their academic success
