As a teacher, in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges, both in and out of the classroom.
My students are an amazing group of 3rd graders that are eager to learn and explore.
They are living a growth-mindset philosophy, embracing the new learning experiences and challenges, and are ready to stretch and grow their brain muscle. Children are like sponges ready to soak up everything. It is my pleasure and duty to help shape their precious minds to love learning and be successful.
My Project
These materials will make such an impact in my classroom because it will give me a chance to instruct my students with higher level text. A lot of our higher level guided reading books don't have enough copies for the number of students in my guided reading groups! It's hard when every student doesn't have a book! These will impact the classroom greatly by getting to continue to push my students more everyday with higher level guided reading books, enough for everyone in a group, to push their thinking and their reading just a little more!
They can read these levels and I want to show them that!
