Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love to draw and create themselves, their friends and their families in their drawings. In order to correctly represent each skin tone, we need the proper colors to do so. Students will be creating a family portrait to represent all the members of their family. Later, these will be laminated so they can take them home.
To allow as much creativeness as possible, we need as many different shades of skin tones as we can get.
Currently, in our crayon boxes, we have only 24 colors. 24 colors which only include brown, yellow, tan, and black. These colors do not represent my students' true skin colors. We are hoping to get a better variety!
