Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are part of a special education program that follows modified curriculum. Part of the curriculum and my mission is to best prepare them with the skills to become successful and employable individuals.

The materials I am requesting will help my students develop job skills in the area of art including craftsmanship, jewelry making, graphic art, digital design and printing.

My students will create graphic and digital designs. They will use the printing press to bring their designs to life on t-shirts. The shirts, tape, shirt measuring kit and press will be used to help my students practice producing shirts. Another skill my students will practice is making jewelry and craftsmanship. The acrylic beads, silicone beads and pens will be used by my students to make one-of-a-kind pieces.

To extend the learning, my students will determine how much item could be sold for. They would calculate the cost of providing each item and the return on investment. These materials will help me better prepare my students for the future and job force.
