My Project

I am looking for affordable, but accurate keyboard technology that my students can use with their iPads in class. It is no surprise that students today need many different skills in order to find success. Due to the growing number of classes and jobs where keyboarding skills are essential for success, it is imperative students have all the tools that they need. My school was recently transitioned to a 1:1 iPad school, because COVID-19 immersed us into a different way of learning in 2020. With the iPads, my students are able to learn critical skills such as research, digital citizenship, and have access to many other applications to enhance their learning. However, they also do not come with a typical keyboard to learn critical typing skills necessary for success in middle and high school, college, and the workplace. One of my primary goals is to prepare my students, not only for the fourth grade, but also help them develop skills that they will use beyond the classroom. A set of wireless keyboards would help ensure my students learn and hone these keyboarding skills beginning at a younger age to provide them with more success in the future. With once a week visits to the computer lab, this isn't something that they have regular access to, but it is something I would like to provide for them.
