My students have a variety of disabilities which impact their daily lives. Some have mobility issues while others struggle with cognitive skills, fine motor skills, and learning to navigate the social world. As a teacher of students with a wide range of needs, I see their hard work and dedication daily.
My students are bright, motivated learners who need support to learn how to access their world.
They want to succeed in everything they do and with a little help, I know they can do anything they put their minds to. I am sure that with access to tools that will help them explore and grow, they can do great things and show the world how amazing they all are.
My Project
Students in high school are all moving toward adulthood, which for most is an exciting time of heading off to college, finding a job, and living independently. Students with moderate/severe disabilities need a little more help getting there.
The addition of these basic skill task boxes will help my students by giving them an opportunity to learn introductory job skills in a way that will foster increased independence and understanding.
Hands-on opportunities to complete the jobs provided in this set will hopefully help my students gain confidence that they can find a job they enjoy and are good at regardless of ability level.
