My Students
I teach in a wonderful, small community in the Bronx. In the last few days of school this past spring, I bagged as many art materials as I could for students so they could continue art at home. Each week my students came to my Google Meetings enthusiastic and excited to learn about this week’s project and share what they have created. With the uncertainty of how the school will look in the fall, we do know that students will be doing some at-home learning. While in school we will not be able to share materials. I want to be able to provide engaging lessons that all students can participate in safely. For some students, this is the only creative outlet that draws them away from their computers that they sit at most of the day.
My Project
Each student will receive their own sketchpad to create amazing art in school and at home. They can practice skills taught in school and work on their final project all in one space. Having a sketchpad will allow them to keep their work neat and organized while traveling back and forth from home to school.
At home, students will have the quality paper they need to complete art using various media.
Their work can be shared right from their sketchpads wherever they are. Also, work can be stored in their desk without the worry about it getting torn or tattered.
