My students need 40 sketchbooks for the beginning of school to practice observational drawing.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him."
-John F. Kennedy
My students love to explore visual arts that connect and reflect culture. Please help support a unit based in painting and an exploration of materials!
Our school is a safe zone, full of caring individuals who treat our student body as family.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of funding, our ability to purchase materials has been cut tremendously. Many of my students would like to pursue higher education or obtain a career in a field relating to the arts.
These materials would allow the students to improve their art-making techniques while expanding their portfolios. Sketch books will allow students to make art every day, in school and outside of school, to improve their technical art making skills and re-create the world around them.
Starting the school year off with sketch books is an awesome way to welcome my students to the start of a new school year in which they feel fully supported in all they do! Students will be changed for the better because they will have the supplies needed for success!
My Project
Students will use these materials on a daily basis, making art a part of their everyday lives.
My students are in need of a place where they can tell their story and where they will be heard. Coming from neighborhoods with minimal opportunity, my students use the resources of the Talent/Art Class as a place to safely express themselves. The majority of my students are English Language Learners and Special Needs students. They are struggling financially and come from neighborhoods full of crime and gang activity. They are high school students, and they are preparing themselves to enter the world as young adults.
These donations will encourage students to be productive in the arts on a daily basis.
Not only will they improve their technical art making skills but your donation will provide students an outlet to express themselves whenever they want!
