Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students are 8th graders and mostly Hispanic and African American students. 60% of the students come from a low income family. Our students have a drive to learn and curious about the world around them. The students arriving at our school know that our main mission is to prepare them with tools for college and beyond.
My Project
Students will be able to have sketch books for their classes that are held online. These resources will be used for various classes including science and art and will encourage students to tap into their artistic side. Many of our students enjoy sketching and would like to incorporate art into the different academic classes.
I think this resource would have a great impact in terms of applying skills outside the virtual environment we are navigating.
As educators are learning to be more creative by embracing a more holistic approach, art is a step in the right direction.
