This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I would like to give each of my fifth grade students their own personal sketch books. These books will allow young artists to express themselves artistically, emotionally, and socially in a private space. They may use these books to practice their artistry, write about their day, or create a visual journal. Fifth graders are not the most forthcoming with their emotions and these sketchbooks will provide them with a form of judgement free expression that they will be able to take home at the end of the year and reflect on.
