I am eager to meet the 25 fourth graders that I get the opportunity to support academically, socially and emotionally for the 2018-2019 school year. While I don't know their names yet or which smiling faces they will be, the students at our school desire to meet the expectations academically, socially and behaviorally.
Students at my school appreciate the opportunity to learn!
Many students are new to the country, some without prior schooling.
Around 60% of the students in the school are English Language Learners. The work ethic of the students allows them to continually make academic gains in order to reach academic success!
These Storyworks magazine issues will engage students in reading a variety of genres. Some stories will be used in small group reading instruction as a close read and others students will have the opportunity to choose to read based on interest.
It is my goal for my students to find reading to be an enjoyable activity not just a requirement at school.
When they take home the magazine, they'll be able to share it with their families and be a model for younger siblings.
Since the issues are suggested for fourth to sixth grades, it will allow me to expand the vocabulary and reading skills of my fourth graders.
