Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom consists of eighteen high energy students who work from the minute they enter the room until the minute they line up to leave. We work collaboratively during much of the day, and at times, need a bit of space to work independently. Their ages range from five to six years old. They are eager to learn, and love to work with their peers.

Our school is one of two neighborhood schools in our district.

Many students walk home or get picked up by their parents because they live less than a mile from the school. We are a tight-knit​ community that celebrates our school's diversity, achievements, and strives to instill character strengths such as gratitude, kindness, and grit, to name a few.

My Project

Having the perfect furniture makes a space so much more comfortable. The items I requested will do just that for our classroom.

A smaller square table will allow students to work in a small, cozy group.

Conversations will be easier due to the fact that the table is not large. The square shape will fit neatly into our classroom, while not taking up the space of a circle table. The cozy floor chairs will allow students to cuddle up with a book, while having support for their backs. Being able to wash the covers is an added bonus!

Cozy spaces allow for more comfortable conversations, and an overall easier feel to the learning environment.
