"The future of the world is in my classroom today." -Ivan Welton Fitzwater
The students at P.D.
Elementary are highly innovative, motivated, and determined to achieve academic success as 21st century learners!
The demographics of my classroom reflect the diverse population and varied socio-economic backgrounds of Orange County. This year, my students will be at the forefront of Computer Science Innovation. They will collaborate and engage in critical thinking as they develop their Python coding skills for Amazon's Alexa, a skill unique to our district.
Flexible seating will allow my 6th grade students to take charge of their learning as they have the opportunity to decide what works best for them. With spending 7 hours a day in the classroom, it is essential that students are getting out of their desks and moving around! Students will be able to collaborate with one another and take on responsibility for their academic achievement as is appropriate for a modern-day classroom.
Flexible seating empowers students by having a choice to immerse themselves in an environment that is most beneficial for their learning style.
As a first year teacher, this project will help to provide options including wobble stools, fidget bands, lap trays, and cushions to fit the needs of the diverse learners in my classroom! Thank you in advance for your consideration of donating and making a difference in my students' academic success for years to come!
