My Students
My students are an active, creative, and funny group! They are always surprising me with their ambition to learn and as we say at every morning meeting, "work hard to be your best self."
Our school is a small, urban, Title I school with about 270 students, where over 95% of students qualify for free breakfast and lunch.
No matter that struggles some of my students face, they come to school ready to learn and improve themselves. I strive to make our classroom a calm and inviting place where students can try their best to be their best!
My Project
Flexible seating is important and preferred by my students, so I am working to add more into our classroom. This project will allow for four Learniture Active Learning Chairs and three plastic stack stools for more seating options. That's enough for every student to make a choice each time they enter our classroom.
Flexible seating is another way students can have voice and choice in my classroom.
By having these options available to them, they know if they use the seating appropriately, that they can make a more preferable seating choice to be more comfortable while working. I have seen students more motivated and increase their stamina because of flexible seating!
