Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We have made so much progress as a class and continue growing each day! We would benefit greatly from new seats when we are having a difficult day.

My students are in a 3,4,5th grade self-contained special education class.

The class has 12 students and allows me to have more on one-on-one time to meet their specific needs. We are located in Washington Heights where most of my students receive free or reduced lunch. Most of the students in the class have special needs including ADHD. These new seats will allow for students to be more comfortable when they are feeling active. It would also allow them to move around more while sitting and be more comfortable when they are anxious. Students in my class also struggle with posture. Some students tend to lay on their desks when they are writing, these new seats would help improve their posture and allow them to be more aware of how they are sitting.

My Project

My students will share these stools daily and rotate them. Students will be able to use them on the challenging days and also help them work on posture. Some students have a hard time sitting up in a chair and these stools would help improve their posture and also make them aware of how they are sitting.

These new seats would improve my classroom tremendously.

They would allow for students to be more comfortable and also allow them to focus on better posture. They would be a great addition to the new desks we received in the beginning of the school year! We hope you consider donating to this project!
