Sitting Around the Makerspace

Help me give my students barstools to be able to sit at while working on a floating shelf in our makerspace in the library.

My Students

My students are eager, creative, and love to be challenged! They challenge themselves to learn and grow every day. I serve over 400 students each week in the library, and they are most engaged in learning when they have hands-on challenges that relate to real-world concepts. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. My students come from diverse backgrounds, and we are a Title I school, but the one thing they have in common is their excitement to learn new concepts and strategies that will help them be successful in all walks of life!

My Project

By being able to have barstools at a floating shelf in our new makerspace area, students can have a choice of whether or not to stand or sit while fostering the growth of the 4 Cs (communication, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration).

Students love to be able to choose what type of flexible seating they prefer because it helps them to be most comfortable as they learn.

We all know the difference that choice makes with a student.

With the addition of the barstools, our makerspace area will be complete, and students will love coming into the library even more, knowing that they have additional places to seat.
