Help me give my students another seating choice.

I work at a school that has very diverse demographics. Our school is a low-income/high poverty school that is identified as a Title I school. This means students come from families who do not have the resources and background to support learning outside the classroom. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch at the school.
I am a special education teacher and I currently co-teach with an amazing general education teacher.
Together, we focus on personalized learning and teaching strategies that help my students excel in the classroom with their peers.
Flexible seating will help my students be more comfortable and make choices that work best for them. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in the room.
Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them and keeping them engaged.
When they are comfortable, they are more engaged, and get more work completed.
My students are so very much more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work. I have chair cushions, but there is always a student that enjoys sitting on the floor.
These carpet squares are a great idea for my older students and will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. We have seat cushions in the classroom, but there is always a few that would rather be sitting on the floor. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom. I have seen how choice can positively affect my students, their work, their demeanor and their conduct. I hope that these additional seating options will help us grow even more!
