I teach PPCD (Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities). Our classroom is filled with books, laughter, music, and the development of language! My elementary school is a Title I school with the majority low-income students in Austin. Our students are socially, racially, and economically diverse. Almost 20% of our students are receiving Special Education services.
Teachers at my school work exceptionally hard to accommodate all of our special learners and find ways to teach outside the box.
Our students are eager to learn, eager to grow, and eager to be successful! We represent the diversity of our unique neighborhood and city.
These wobble chairs will provide alternative seating for my students during table work activities. Some of my students can be very wiggly and this will allow their bodies to move while completing tasks and artwork at the table.
Offering a variety of seating options can help students be successful throughout classroom activities.
By providing wobble chairs, I'll be able to offer my students accommodations for sitting and working. I think they'll be more motivated to work at our tables and complete independent tasks. Each color will match a table so they'll know where to sit when it's time to work.
