My Project
In today's fast-paced, technology-driven world, nurturing a passion for reading is an essential endeavor. In an English classroom, three crucial elements play a pivotal role in inspiring 10th-12th grade students to become avid readers and lifelong learners: great books, flexible seating, and independent reading prizes. To create a vibrant learning environment that fosters a deep appreciation for literature, we urgently need these resources.
Books are like magical portals that transport us to different worlds, introduce us to intriguing characters, and expand our horizons.
Unfortunately, not all students have access to a diverse and engaging library. With your help, we can change that.
Traditional classroom setups can be boring and uninspiring. By introducing comfy seating options, we can turn the classroom into a cozy reading nook that motivates and relaxes students.
My students have finished over 100 books already this year! My students have been so excited to finish books this year since I introduced prizes for independent reading. They choose a prize after they talk to me about the book they just finished reading. Introducing reading prizes adds an extra layer of excitement to reading, motivating high schoolers to pick up books and explore new stories.
