This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have special needs, and because of their needs they are unable to sit in a regular chair, so we need some large soft pillows that form around them. This would allow them to be placed in a variety of positions throughout the school day.

My students range in grade from Kindergarten to 6th grade.

They have a variety of disabilities with most of them being severely disabled. Most of them are in wheelchairs and are non-verbal. We are a school located in a low-socioeconomic area in Arizona.

My Project

I am requesting 6 Huggz pillows of various sizes to use in my classroom. I have several students who need to be placed in different positions throughout the day. These students are unable to sit in a conventional chair, and having these pillows would allow us to place them in a variety of positions.

I believe this project is important because my classroom has students with some high needs, and working in this area it is very difficult to fund items for my classroom.

I don't want my students to sit in their wheelchairs all day. Having this project funded would really help in providing appropriate positioning of the students throughout the day.
