Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing! They are in a Dual Language Program where they learn in Spanish half the day and English the other half. In my classroom, my students engage in Spanish instruction.

My students love to learn about, and celebrate their diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds just as much as they love coming to school.

They are a mix of native Spanish speakers who are learning to speak English and others who are well on their way to being multilingual!

My Project

Students feel empowered and excited about their learning when they have a degree of choice. Flexible seating does just that and more!

Flexible seating allows students to choose comfortable spaces where they can enjoy doing their work and engaging with peers.

Sinking into a bean bag chair to read a good book and conversing with friends is the ideal learning experience. Much like bean bag chairs, collapsible floor chairs allow even the most restless bodies to relax while tending to differences in sensory input.

Not only does flexible seating provide comfortable seating options, they also provide physical movement which studies show is helpful with learning. Students are able to move around the classroom to find the right nook to sink into learning.
